Preparing New Organizations - Introduction to Dialysis Services
"Preparing New Organizations - Introduction to Dialysis Services", is the 1st webinar in a 3-part webinar series that is co-presented with the professionals from Health Design Specialist, an international consulting service company dedicated to the dialysis industry. This first installment addresses requests from individuals seeking information regarding opening a Medicare-certified Renal Dialysis Facility, the different types of long-term dialysis service options, the impact of those options on the individual that requires dialysis, barriers that people face when deciding which option works best for them, as well as how a new facility coincides with the impact of the options offered.
This installment of the webinar series further focuses on some key steps a new organization or individual will need to consider prior to opening a Medicare-certified Renal Dialysis facility. Some of the considerations include but are not limited to: Certificate of Need requirements, state licensure requirements, obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number, submitting the Medicare Enrollment application, submitting CMS 3427, as well as ensuring compliance with the rules and regulations of CMS in order to become certified and accredited by obtaining some of the essential CMS manuals. The intent of the webinar focuses on considerations prior to the Initial CCN deeming Accreditation survey.
